M42 Armored Vehicle Periscope

The M42 Periscope serves to provide an unobstructed field of view past the howitzer’s muzzle brake. The M42 is mounted above the cradle on the upper right-hand portion of the howitzer mount and is used with the M118A2 Elbow Telescope.

The M42 Periscope is used on the M109 Self-Propelled Howitzer.
