The AVDS-1790-2DR Diesel Engine is a Military-Grade V12 Air-Cooled Main Propulsion Unit used on the M88 Armored Recovery Vehicle (ARV) variants M88 and M88A1. The AVDS-1790-2DR engine has a 1790 cubic-inch displacement and provides an output power of 750HP at 2450 RPM. The 2DR engine configuration\ includes an electrically operated "high-idle" throttle facility for stationary hydraulic operations and a Power Takeoff (PTO) to drive the hydraulic power unit.
